The personal bit...
My name is Jessica Townsend and I am a freelance illustrator based in London where I spend most of my days whiling away the hours following one creative pursuit or another, mostly involving drawing and designing, but sometimes taking photographs and coming up with story ideas, often with a cup of tea to hand! I set up this blog as a way to connect a bit more with the online world (being a freelancer working from home can feel a little bit isolated at times), show some of my work in progress, highlight any tips and tricks I might come across that I think could be beneficial to others and generally make a nuisance of myself!

The professional bit...
I have a degree in illustration from University College Falmouth and have worked as an in-house graphic designer and teacher of graphic design and photography, but I now work solely on my illustration career. I have illustrated for a variety of clients and my work can be seen on wallpaper, greetings cards, in magazines, on book covers and in the odd exhibition now and again.
Clients include: Oxford University Press, Milk Magazine Hong Kong, Factor 3, Wallpapered, Santoro Graphics, Alison Griffin Associates, Soul Paint, Speech Academy London and Chromarty Construction.
